Hobson Prior is recruiting for a dedicated Automation Engineer. This role focuses on medium to large automation projects within the pharmaceutical industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting technical batch applications. This position requires onsite presence and offers visa sponsorship for non-EU workers.

Responsibilities:
- Work on automation projects from design to implementation, testing, and commissioning.
- Design and implement technical batch applications using the 800xA system.
- Provide both onsite and offsite support for installed systems.
- Lead a team through project development, installation, and commissioning.
- Participate in technical design and clarification meetings.
- Collaborate across software, hardware, documentation, and validation disciplines.
- Prepare and understand FAT and SAT test plans.
- Support the installation, startup, and commissioning of control systems.
- Maintain and service systems both onsite and offsite.
- Assist account managers with sales and proposals.
- Adhere to health and safety policies and procedures.
Key Skills and Requirements:
- Degree in Electrical, Software, Automation Engineering, or related field.
- Proven working knowledge in automation, specifically with 800xA is a necessity.
- Familiarity with software validation and GAMP.
- Background in pharmaceutical automation projects or similar.
- Experience in startup and commissioning phases.
- Knowledge of automation connectivity to MES systems.
- Ability to document work procedures in compliance with ISO9001 and GMP standards.
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
- Strong organizational and technical skills.
- Flexible and proactive approach.
