Hobson Prior is in search of a determined and engaged Senior Research Scientist for an 8-month contract. In this role, you will develop advanced cell-based tests to help identify potential new treatments. You will work on projects across various stages of drug discovery, focusing on areas like respiratory and inflammation, cardiovascular, renal and metabolism, and rare diseases.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and refine cell-based tests for discovering new treatments.
• Collaborate with teams specializing in cell engineering, cell banking, and screening.
• Apply your knowledge of cells and testing technologies to support drug discovery projects.
• Contribute innovative ideas and scientific strategies to advance drug projects.

Key Skills & Requirements:

• Advanced degree in Biology, Pharmacology, Cell Biology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Proficient in cellular biology techniques for developing cell-based tests.
• Experience in measuring RNA transcripts and working with therapeutic oligonucleotides.
• Skilled in various cell models and cell biology techniques, including cloning and gene expression knock-down.
• Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
• Experience in designing, developing, and validating cellular tests for screening and profiling.
• Familiarity with cellular imaging, image analysis, and automation for cell tests.
